 "WHO'S TO KNOW??!!" 2009-07-11

SINCE WE DON'T KNOW FOR SURE HOW WELL THIS PRODUCT PERFORMS (WITHOUT SOME SORT OF PESKY TESTING) THIS PRODUCT BECOMES SOMETHING YOU PURCHASE BASED ON FAITH THAT THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS & CLAIMS ARE ACCURATE & TRUE. I DID NOTICE A DIFFERENCE IN THE "FEEL" OF THE WATER IN MY SHOWER WHEN I FIRST INSTALLED THE FILTER. OTHER THAN THAT, I HAVE NO PROOF IT DOES THE JOB THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS IT'S DOES. IN AN EFFORT TO DO SOMETHING GOOD & HEALTHFUL FOR YOURSELF, I GUESS THAT SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO ACT ON FAITH!!

 "Filter for Showerhead" 2009-06-27
By ReviewerA
Included was a calendar sticker to help remind you when to change filter out (nice feature). A person should probably stock up on these in order to have one available every six-months. Good product in conjunction with the Culligan showerheads. Had to shake-off just a little filter residue before installing but this "settling" is probably normal. Easy install. Easy use. Good performance so far.

"Good, but spending the money on a whole-house softener is probably better..." 2009-05-23
By M. Ram (San Jose, CA, USA)
I bought the Culligan faucet kit a few weeks ago. Our house has always had REALLY hard water, and in lieu of buying a softener to hook up in the garage, I decided to check this out first. I'll give it that the filtration is having an effect - my arms and face aren't as dry as they used to be, and and some of the problems I had (like a rash on the back of my neck) have faded a bit. There is a strong carbon smell to the water (similar to what you'd smell while replacing an aquarium filter), but it's tolerable.

Somehow, I was hoping for more. I still have to put on a lot of lotion (hands and arms) and aloe vera gel (on my face and head) after showering, and my legs and feet are still dry. I'm probably going to go ahead and get a whole house softener, as it will affect all the taps, and salt is cheaper to buy than these replacement filters.

"Save yourself some money doing this process I discovered today!" 2009-05-16
By J. M. (New York, NY, USA)
I love the showerhead but was not happy at how fast the filter was clogging. I was spending $15 about every 6 weeks or so. It was not just the money but the way the water dripped on my head with no pressure that was giving me a bad start to my day. So this afternoon I wakeup and I remembered something from Aviation school: It is cheaper to repair than to replace. So enthusiastically I went over to the bathroom and turned on the shower, drip drip drip, barely anything. So I removed the filter and shook it, solid as a rock. I took it over to the kitchen sink and let it soak for a few minutes under the steaming hot water on each side. Then I took the filter and banged it over and over on the kitchen floor, watching the brown muddy water and dirty particles flying out of it with each pounding. Do this for both sides. I shook the filter and it was beginning to loosen up, I could feel the carbon particles moving around a bit but still clogged so I repeated the process. I put it back in the showerhead to test if my procedure worked and sure enough it did! It was like brand new again. The shower curtain was waving around like there was a small tornado in my tub. To make it nice and fresh I am going over to the local drugstore and purchasing CLR (Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover). Soak the filter in this and it should remove all the nasty brown stuff and make it nice and clean. Hope this helps some people save some money. The economy is tough and we need to stretch our dollars.

"What a difference it makes!" 2009-04-16
By J. Madre (Eastern North Carolina)
My wife has extremely dry skin all over. We both suffer from dry skin on our shins in the wintertime. These helped tame our county water supply so that our skin was softer. This was the first winter that the skin on our shins wasn't itching and cracked open.
